Me thinks the first Jason Lewis entry ("Long Form Jason Lewis") was not Jason Lewis, but James Tanner.

The answer to the question is, of course: Cody Hodgson.

Oh, and: fist

Why does there always have to be a winner and a loser in a trade?

Neither. They're both losers until they prove they otherwise.

IMO Kassian needs to change his attitude on and off the ice. He needs to fully commit to hockey and work hard. Spend extra time on the ice after practice, in the weight room... etc. He needs to fully change his mind set and decide to be an NHL hockey player before it could be considered a win for Edmonton.

Montreal "won" this trade but neither team are going to be on the hook very long since the contracts expire at the end of the season. No trade victory here.

Scrivens seems more likely to do better in the short term since Montreal's defence will be a significant improvement over Edmonton's / Bakerfield's defences.

Kassian will be hard pressed to get back to NHL playing condition with the season almost half over. Kassian being in the NHL's stage 2 substance program will keep him on a very short leash but his NHL career numbers are not stellar.

I hope Kassian can beat his addiction since he is a young man with his life ahead of him.

Habs won. Kassian is garbage and has yet to show any worth. Scrivens at least showed in LA he is capable. Goalies simply don't Succeed in Edmonton.

James Tanner should really watch games rather than blindly commenting. Condon has been far from fine. That is the whole reason they went after Scrivens. Guy is barely above 90% in save percentage.

The Oilerd won, not because they got kassian but because they got rid of the Scrivens contract. Ofcourse they are paying some of Bens contract but only as long as the Habs keep him in the NHL so the habs just handcuffed themselves into either a) keeping scrivens as their backup or b) paying scrivens full contract while he plays in the minors.

Buddy, you got to lay off the watch the games BS> Carey Price had one of the best goalie seasons ever last year and during that season he had two periods where he went through a worse seven game stretch than Condon recently did.

This isn't an opinion, or up for debate. That isn't "blindly" commenting. That is taking a an extremely stupid narrative and correcting it with the truth.

Unless Scrivens is going to score goals, this move is about getting rid of a player they didn't want and not so much getting a goalie, since there is zero reason for anyone to think Scrivens is superior to Condon.

Only in a world where every action in the sport of hockey is quantified by current statistics. Unfortunately, this world only exists in your head.

As for Kassian, I have a problem with the way people just rip his character like he's some idiot , when, no doubt, these holier than though types have never met him.

Matt,

I enjoy your use of stats. I'm a firm believer in repeatable sustainability.

But....... who are you to say some 24 year old kid who grew up with temptations that any archaeologist could only dream of isn't ready for a second chance? Are you beating off groupies on your minimum wage salary? Are you in the midst of your early twenties with cash and fame? Maybe you are just simply too young. Maybe you haven't had the misfortune to need a second or third chance. How lucky is that?

Kassian has proven skill. I'm cheering for him to both stay clean and make an impact at the NHL level.

I hope Kassian turns this into his own personal redemption story. Go to hell anyone wishing otherwise.

Matt, you are kind of a douche. Get over yourself

Zip it Jabroni.it may be self inflicted, but addiction is certainly an illness, not an excuse. Welcome to the 21st century, your sensibilities are far outdated.

James Tanner, it really is not about being holier than thou in judging Kassian. Ghandi said "A man is the sum of his actions, of what he has done, of what he can do, Nothing else" This applies especially to pro athletes who get paid BIG bucks to play sports. This guy is barely out of training camp and pulls a pretty stupid stunt. Are we supposed to feel sorry for him? I mean given his past, how many second chances does he get considering, again, that he is paid good money to play hockey?

Obeezy would have made sure all teams in the NHL lost equally.
